Your Black World reports
CNN is taking a bit of criticism for its recent GOP debate that took place in the nation’s capital. Washington DC, which has a substantial African American population, looked incredibly white during the recent debates, held on national television.
The crowd consisted primarily of invitees of the Heritage Foundation and AEI, two conservative think tanks. In America, conservatism is considered synonymous with being white, speaking to America’s unspoken racial inequality.
CNN has not responded to the reasons that African Americans were largely excluded from those invited to the debate or allowed to ask questions. DC was the first city to have a majority black population, which is why so many were surprised to see the audience that appeared during the debate.
Herman Cain did address race during the debate, attempting to argue that as the GOP nominee, he would have the ability to address the African American community. A recent mailer by the Cain campaign stated that he would "lead the Republican party to victory by garnering a large share of the black vote, something that has not been done since Dwight Eisenhower garnered 41 percent of the black vote in 1956" because Cain is "a descendent [sic] of slaves."

I noticed the mostly all white audience. There were a few African Americans huddled together.

not only was it white, but it was lilly white!
but i do appreciate their honesty in sending a message to blacks that they do not need our vote nor support in the republican party.
at least they are being honest about how they feel about us, just saying...
CNN has sent a clear message to minorities around the country. Consider also Solidad's new report on being black in America. Frankly, I'm not sure she knows what its really like to be B.I.A. Hey Solidad, although you are respected as a reporter, your credibility as being "black" in America is questionable. Just because we may look like "something" doesn't mean that we are "something."
Neither the G.O.P, nor S.Ob seem to know what it really is to be B.I.A.
