What are We Waiting For?

Okay, I love politics but even I can't take much more of the fiasco that is called the Democratic Nomination. Has anyone else noticed that we have a winner but no one seems to want to come out and say it. Barack Obama is the elected nominee. He has the most popular votes, the most delegates and the most states won. Hillary CAN NOT catch him. Not gonna happen folks. So what are we doing? Instead of bowing to the will of the people, She is continuing to drag this out, run Barack through the mud and decimate the Democratic Party. Why? Because she wants to win, so to hell with what the people want it is about what the Clintons want. I'm really sick of entertaining the whims of one self centered political family.

Let's think about the reality of this for a moment shall we? I would like to point out some harsh truths that Hillary refuses to accept. She doesn't have the numbers and will not get the numbers to win. That is it. Some say well, it is about the psychology of the Superdelegates and who they think is more electable. The people have spoken and said who we think is more electable and the Superdelegates need to respect that. Many of them are elected officials and I can't imagine they want to be responsible for pulling a Bush/Gore Popular vs Electoral replay on this nomination and that is exactly what would happen if they override the popular vote and hand Clinton the nomination that she did not earn. We have to put up with those outcomes from the antiquated Electoral College but I refuse to accept that same outcome from my Party leaders. Why are they waiting when the situation is so obvious. One said she feels that every state should be able to weigh in before a decision is made. Why, there really is no other decision to make! Too bad for those States that hold their primaries late in the game but the the game is over. Could it be that we have some Superdelegates that are having fun being courted by the two camps and just don't want to give up that attention yet. Lunches with the candidates and their staff, emails, phone calls and gift baskets and what else they are getting to secure their vote. At some point there comes a time to make a decision already so we can move on.


Then there is my favorite argument, what about Michigan and Florida? What about them, they don't count. That decision was made and agreed upon at the outset by the candidates, Hillary included. But now, just like her war vote, she wants to go back and change her mind because she won those states. Well news flash, how hard was it to win those states when Barack's name wasn't even on the ballot in Michigan. How fair would it be to award states to someone when her opponent at the time wasn't even an option to vote for! Do we really think Michigan would have just been handed to Hillary? Most of the big unions have backed Barrack and when I think of Michigan I think car makers, lots of unions there, there is a large Black population and it is next to Obama's home state. Can we really say Hillary would have hands down won that state? We will never know and because of that we can't give it to her. How do you think those of us who voted for Obama would react if those states were given to her after our candidate played by the rules that were set forth all because she doesn't like to lose? I can say for me, that would be it for the Democratic party on the national level. I would be looking for Independant candidates and alternatives to being involved with a party that will turn a deaf ear to the will of the majority of it's people. And how may times do we have to listen to, "what would happen to Hillary's supporters if she doesn't win?" Maybe the same thing that has happenes with the supporters of every other candidate that didn't win the nomination, the losing candidate backs the winner and encourages their supporters to do the same. What's the problem? Does anyone care about what would happen to the Obama supporters if they gave Hillary the nomination? He and his supporters are winning after all.

So here is where we sit. With a race that is realistically over, with the Democratic Party leaders waffling and waiting for someone with a strong enough voice or the guts to say enough already. Maybe they are waiting for the sky to open up and a banner to be dropped to the Earth declaring Obama the rightful heir to the Democratic throne so none of them have to make a hard decision on their own. All the while these wise leaders are sitting idly by watching Hillary shred the possibility of winning in November. Why are they allowing her to publicly rip apart the person who by rights should be our Democratic nominee? Is it because she is a Clinton? Somehow the world is supposed to bend to the will of one family because they say so, or because Bill seems poised to literally bite off the heads of anyone who opposes their wishes. Someone needs to take Hillary aside and say you are done and Bill needs a rabies shot, go home. She needs to concede, and throw her support behind the person the people have chosen and convince her supporters that they need to support him too for the good of the party and the Country. This is the same thing the people would be asking for if it were Obama losing and refusing to leave the race.

So I'm going to answer the question of who I would want answering the phone at 3 am during a National emergency. I wouldn't want that power hungry, manipulative bitch, letting my dog out at 3 am if it were a canine emergency. Yeah I said it. We the people have already said who we want to make those decisions for us and it isn't her. She doesn't have the best interest of the people at heart. All she wants is back in the White House. Her positions change to suit what works for her at the time not what fits with the people she is representing and we don't need someone like that in the White House. Lets make some noise people and let those few that refuse to put their asses on the line and throw their undeclared support behind the numerical winner know that this nomination is done. If they don't want to make it done then maybe THEY should be done. It is over now, so lets stop beating each other up and start beating up on McCain. Enough is enough!
